Ken (cager in training) arrived with his mechanic to check it over and he can now change his profile from "I don't own a bike" to "1998 Fazer 400". His eagle eyed mechanic noticed some play in the Swinging arm bearings and a tiny bit of notchiness in the steering head bearings which I had not noticed, much to my surprise. I never felt it when I rode it, but then I had not ridden it more than 10miles since my son brought it came back from the UK. His mechanic took it for a spin and also did not notice it when riding it. His comment was the same as mine when I first rode the 400, "it is a really nice little bike to ride"
It has been ultra reliable in the 31000Km my son put on it while I had it. Was really sad to see it go to be honest. :'(
I could not really justify keeping it, but it is I believe gone to a good home and will be taken care of.
I hope you got what you wanted for it unfazed and that you will put those funds to good use on more bike stuff.
I always liked the fz400....if they had a character then yes it would be likeable....& i never even rode one.....when i was a 16 year old and ogling all the bike porn...mainly my dads back street heroes magazines :b but often Bike etc there was quite allot of the bandit and fazer 400's for sale but there cant be many left now....ill do a check later.
Easiest way to go fast........don't buy a blue bike
