Another ebay waste of my diesel
#4
It's unreal what some people can live with just to sell a bike. No conscience whatsoever. When I took out the wheels to. Paint them, this was the sprocket carrier bearing...no only was it bolloxed, but it had been for a long time, no trace of the missing metal and liberally engorged in grease..it was obvious someoneĀ  had seen it and put it back in albeit with shit loads of grease...everything had a story..took the Genny cover off to polish it and put a new gasket on to cure it's oil leak.. The bloke had snapped one of the screws in the stator windings, then tried to force the Genny cover back on and put a small fracture in it hence the oil leak...45 quid for another cover in the end though I've had the old one repaired as a spare....similar to you I ended up checking the whole bike. The only thing that had no issues was the lump and the carbs..just got them back together and was amazed there was no superglued diaphragms etc.. They were sound.
Sadly, this bike is gonna be one sorted old girl by the time it's painted, but I gotta sell it to fund my paint course and compressor and tools. I've lost count if the hours I've put into it, it's a foccer I can't keep it.. Sad
