Another ebay waste of my diesel
#3
I bought a project off eBay - it was sold as 'working but needs a new starter motor'. Well, anyway, I got the starter motor working after a decent clean out and new seals. But I'm thankful I had always planned to strip the bike down and put it back together piece by piece (after painting etc). Last night I stripped the frame down to its bare bones, and I'm so glad I bought it and not someone who would have jumped on and rode the thing. There was barely a tight nut on the whole bike (and those that were only were due to rust), and the amount of incorrect nuts/bolts/screws - I'd take something off held on with 2 bolts and one would be a 10mm and the other a 12mm, or one would be a 14mm and the other would be a philips head. Not the worst thing in the world, but just stinks of DIY bodgit.

Anyway, frame stripped - time to grind the tabs off and have it painted.
