I've never had a VFR800 but I've had 2 VFR750's which many people believe are the better than the 800 and 2 Fazer 1000.
Bought my first VFR many years ago as it had always been a dream bike for me, I had it for just short of 2 years before finding out that it had been a cat C insurance jobbie, couldn't really live with it after that so started to look at the new VFR vtec and Fazer 1000's. Went for the Fazer as I didn't like theĀ idea of a vfr without gearĀ driven cams.
I kept that bike for 6 years before selling to buy a ST1100, biggest mistake in my biking life. After playing around with a few different bikes I ended up with a MINT VFR750 I enjoyed the bike for a couple of years but still hankered for a Fazer again.
Luckily for me a bloke saw my VFR while it was in for a service and when all comes to all I ended up swapping the VFR for his Fazer 1000, he kept the VFR for a few months and is now back on a gen 2 Fazer.
I'm now back on a gen 1 1000 and love every min of it, can't see me ever selling or getting rid, superb all rounder IMHO.
