The MT, where do I start?
At the end, grinning
It's a very different beast to the FZ1. Maybe better depending on what you want. I don't think it's an all purpose bike like the original Fazers but it's much better for having fun on!!
It's much lighter and more nimble so you throw it around like a sportsbike. More than once I had to check if the speedo had switched itself to KPH :lol
If you think the FZ1 throttle/fuelling is flawed ( I don't) then you have no chance of liking an MT.
It's going to take a little getting used to, in std mode just a slight throttle movement and the response is immediate, making travelling along a bumpy road a bit jerky to be honest. There is B mode which is much softer, more like the FZ1 style but you miss that instant takeoff so that's proberly good for round town cruising. Haven't used A mode but imagine that's going to be for fast open roads/track. For sure in A mode the front wheel won't touch the ground :eek
Found the suspension OK. Had to wind up the preload front and rear and harden the rebound settings and find it goes where you point it without too much drama at all. In fact it turns in much quicker than the FZ1.
The seat is not to my liking, it's sculpted so you have to sit in one postion, right on the tank and right on your nuts!, after my 130 mile blast, I was glad to get home, not a sore arse just a bit uncomfortable.
The engine is stonking, just takes off, no waiting for 7000 revs, and is addictive. The induction roar sounds like you are in a Ferrari or something - lovely, much prefer hearing that than a loud exhaust in your earhole all day.
More economical than the FZ, 130 mile to F trip instead of 110/115, though I haven't filled it back up to see how much goes in but the computer said 58 mpg!!
The Battalax tyres feel good, had no issues even pushing them while scrubbing them in
I've put a Puig sport flyscreen on it, mainly to protect the gubbins from bug debris and it keeps the wind off you. Went up to the ton and absolutely no buffeting unlike the FZ1. Much better I think.
Overall at the moment I like it very much. A couple of mods maybe re the seat and exploring any throttle issues I can't ride around and it's a winner I reckon!!
