VNA, that's really worrying when they don't know what the foc is going on around them, isn't it? Luckily for me, my Dad is with it most of the time - but if he catches any colds/infections etc, it really knocks him off kilter and he loses the plot completely - trouble is, the myeloma reduces his resistance to those things, so he's pretty vulnerable. And because of the chemotherapy, any time his temperature goes above 37.5 C, we're supposed to call the triage unit as a matter of emergency. He didn't tell me til we'd already called the ambulance this morning that he has been off of the chemo for a bout a week though :rolleyes So consequently, when the ambulance arrived and I explained his temperature, and that it had actually come down a bit since calling, they said, 37.5? That's normal! But then did some checks and found his oxygen levels low; bit more serious, so they decided he should be taken in. They'll keep him in for a few days, he'll be better, come home, and then it'll all repeat in a week or two. But I'm noticing how much weaker he is getting, especially over the last 2, 3 months.
