At 17 when connecting an earth cable to a distribution board , the 10mm spanner I was using stuck on the nut I was tightening , when I tried to get it off it touched the live terminal and blew me off the ladder .
At 18 when adjusting a bend on 25mm conduit , the conduit slipped in the bender , and I pulled it down with all my weight on top my head .
I slipped off a stepladder , whilst doing the apprentice job of touching up the conduit with black enamel paint , and redecorated the newly furnished room .
I tripped over a cold water pipe while working in a roof void in a nursing home , snapped the joint and flooded out the place , still the plus side was lots of nurses running round waving there arms in the air with wet tops on .
Fell through a gantry on a conveyor system , and smashed my shin on a steel girder put a hole in my leg 2 inches long and 5mm wide right down to bone , had a load of stitches , had to have 3 weeks off work , as I couldn't put any weight on it in case it opened up .
Had to remove an old transformer ( under protest ) from a rail cleaning depot , we parked a scissor lift under it , supported it with ropes from above , I was cutting the brackets with a 9 inch angle grinder , when making the fourth cut in the last bracket , the grinder jammed and smashed just under my chin , the white t shirt I was wearing went red , when I turned round to ask my colleague who was on the ground how bad it was , he went white with shock , I initially thought I cut the artery , so sat down and waited to die , after a minute and I was still alive , we walked back across site to find the first aid box , cleaned it up , got the cnut foreman to take me to the AE to get stitches .
Also had to go to the eye hospital a few times , to get bits of metal taken out .
