If you do 25,000 miles with a normal filter it filters the dirt out and gets blocked. If you did the exact same 25,000 miles with the k&n filter it would remove the same amount of dirt right? But keep working,  great. But you're still carrying around enough crap to block a standard filter for another 25,000 miles! Or what if it sucks in a leaf on the first spin after you put it in, you'd have a leaf in your filter for 50,000 miles :lol
