One of the best things about this site, is that it's far more than just a bike site. Anything can, and does, get discussed, and that's what makes it such a vibrant place. Coupled with a very light degree of moderation, it has made this place what it is today. Those saying ban politics before it ruins the place, are missing the point - it's because of the wide ranging topics discussed, that the forum is still here. How many other forums are anywhere near as frequented as this, covering bikes that (mostly) stopped being sold years ago?
