to k&n or not k&n that is the question

hello all the are all wise in the ways that are fazer  :lol

I am toying with the idea of sticking a k&n air and oil filter in my beasty, but I have now had 2 apparent bike mechanics say to me not to put a k&n air filter because it could make dead spots in performance and say I should stick with originals

WAIT FOR IT

OR

stick it with them to dyno jet or some sort of magic trick to make it work and at the same time sucking the money out my pockets  :eek

so could someone clear this up for me please and answer the question of to or not.

I no that it seems lots on here have but is it worth it in the long run :'(
