Just a wild guess. Does the 1000 have a fuel pressure regulator? I know that some GSXR 1000 have that, apart from the fuel pump. It has a tiny fuel filter inside that can get stuck - so it has to be changed (100 euros), or cut open, cleaned, then welded.  Smile
Most things done in a hurry need to be done again - patiently.
