On my bike I have moved the numberplate up and over the origional reflector and then cut off the mudguard flush with the bottom of the numberplate. I have then fitted a 2x1 inch reflector on a bracket bolted to the mudguard behind the plate. Now of course I have my reflector on display at all times but if you were to choose you could swivel the reflector up behind the mudguard (like my picture) if you wanted, and pop it down when you have to like for the mot.
I see now you have put a picture up it looks like they have cut away most of the guard and only left the bit for the indicators, so not sure if my idea would work for you, here is mine
