I've never trusted these flip up types....too scared they flip up in an accident

My lad swears by them, and he's crashed nearly as much as cristoT. :-\

But seriously 3b, they have to pass some pretty vigorous tests. I think it's rare they come open in a crash. They do tend to be a bit noisyer than closed lids though.
