It's difficult to tell, but I'm pretty sure he's already losing it before we see him. I think he's come into the bend too fast and then grabs a handful of brake when he sees the lorry causing him to drop it.
He's damned lucky to be alive and damned stupid to try to sue the driver!
PS Of course what he *should* have done is used the Limit Point to judge his speed into the bend, instead of possibly trying to follow his mate through, then counter-steered it rather than going for the brake and getting target-fixated on the truck, but that's easy to say when it's not happening to you *RIGHT NOW*!!
