The reason for this is if the rhs grip is positioned so the wires come out from below, if you're braking (heavily) whilst the throttle is open, there potential for the rubber bit where the wires exit to interfere with the brake lever. In theory that should not happen that often, but I frequently blip the throttle on downshifts so it's better to be on the safe side. I don't trail brake on the road either but that is another scenario where interference could occur.

If you're looking from the right side of the bike i think i've positioned the cable at about the 7 o'clock mark, so it won't interfere at all.
