Paypal Bastards!

What about good old bank transfer. Is this safe?
I buy stuff off someone, they give me Bank details, Branch,Sort code and Account number and then I go into a Bank and deposit funds straight into Account?
Just curious about how safe this is for the Account holder?

Very safe and very permanent. Buyer transfers money to the sellers account, seller sends out  goods, simple. Yet if the second part doesn't happen the buyer has no redress but by using credit card or Paypal the buyer suddenly has back up and some guarantee of atleast getting money back. 


I personally think Paypal would be bigger Bastards to ignore suspicions
