Just remember this when the Para's lost control in Londonderry and shot 13 dead? that momentary madness ensured Martin McGuiness & Gerry Adams had young lads joining the Provo's (IRA) for the next 30 years, the net result of that episode led to over 3000 deaths in N Ireland and sadly plenty on the main land as well, mostly innocents murdered by both sides.
My point is discipline has to be maintained to the highest degree by our armed forces, it is what puts us above the rest. I can understand what has happened but it can never be condoned.
A similar situation could develop in the UK with every mad mullah preaching hatred at Friday prayers, We have already had one young lad hacked to death outside his barricks.
The judge tough should never ever named the Marine.
