Another fun ride along the A44 - just popped along to Crossgates café and back. Started with the Charlbury TT, taking it nice and easy as there was a lot of farm muck about, still some patches of frost here and there. There's something inordinately satisfying about riding smoothly and carefully yet still managing to get a good pace on. One of those days when I just seemed to spot all the hazards in plenty of time to take avoiding action without upsetting the pace. And hazards there were! Who needs a shotgun for pheasants slimwilly?! You could have scraped several up off the road today on my route, including having to duck (duck a pheasant? Or pheasant a duck? :lol ) one low flying fella, dodging another that had clearly just been clipped by a car - spinning around on it's back in the middle of the lane. Oh, and a huge pile of manure slap-bang in the middle of the road at one point! About 250 miles all in.
