I ride all year round in "most" conditions and, apart from the usual advice that has been given about riding style etc, my big piece of advice is to keep yourself warm and dry.
If you are warm and comfortable then you will feel better on the bike. Invest in decent clothing, layer up and wear waterproofs to keep the wind off. Then just try and relax and enjoy
