Nogster your right, I'm far from petite, the gen 2 handles my manly heaviness no probs at all, one of the reasons I prefer a gen two is they are far stiffer( Farr fnarr), and don't sink like my ageing gen 1 did when I sat on it. I did have to alter the headlights, and in doing so finally found summat I don't like about my bike, trying to spanner the two nuts around that alter the beam height is a right arse of a job!!
Was thinking about that minty gen one today, on me ride from norwich to Peterborough to see me grandson. I guess it's a question of perspective.
If you bought that bike at four and a half grand and used it as god intended, in. One or two years time it would be another clean fazer thou worth two and a half grand realistically. That's nearly five grand to find then a 2k drop in two years. If you bought a new fz1 it's twice as much money to find for the Purchase, and you would lose 2 grand as soon as you rode it away from the shop.
So....if you genuinely prefer gen ones to gen twos, in a way it's kind of a bargain I guess...
