The area around my friend's place is farms and woods with lots of hills and winding roads. There is the odd slow moving farm equipment or stray cow to keep you alert but it's a lot of fun. Here in NM it seems to be all about getting someplace fast as most of the roads are straight lines. The speed limit on expressways is 75 and 80 in some parts of Texas. I find excuses to travel to neighboring towns, 120 mile round trip for pepper spiced olives, 70 mile round trip for BBQ brisket for supper ... and play 'pass the car in front of me' along the way.
