The extra bits on insurance--worth it?

I dont bother with the extras, I joined the RAC which covers my car and bikes, it gets me and vehical back home, and not to the nearest garage (limit 10 miles) which some cover does, then what do you do to get you and the bike home? while being charged £20 a day storage.
I had a claim (not my fault) when I was with Carol Nash who gives free? legal cover only to find it was a firm that takes them on for free anyway, they were S**T to say the least.
