You're right about the TDM Steve, obviously it isn't a Fazer but I had already written foc loads so I didn't want to go into detail on their differences. What I meant was they have some similar characteristics like they're both competent all rounders, both have fairly neutral riding positions, are reliable and cheap enough to run, cost similar to buy and insurance is cheap. TDM is more tax and more thirsty though. By don't perform as well, I meant the Fazer would likely have it in a quarter mile and arguably has better handling. But, as you say the TDM does of course have more roll on torque being a larger capacity engine and a twin, plus it's without a doubt more comfortable. I had a sit on one recently and the ergonomics for me were very good. Had I known about them sooner, it may have swayed my decision but as I didn't at the time and it wasn't in my line up of bikes I was interested in I definitely made the right choice getting the Fazer. As an all rounder it beats the TDM for me, more so if you're average height.
Buck, something I totally missed reading your original post was that yours has only done 8000 miles and you've only added 500. That's definitely going to have some worth to someone IF you do decide to sell it. Mine had 24,500 when I put it up for sale so if yours is in good condition you should stand a better chance than I did. Definitely listen to red98 though and wait until next spring.
