Mine did that a few months ago when I didn't start her up for a couple of weeks. The revs went up to about 3k at idle. I just took her out and rode steady for a while. After a few seconds of riding, the tick over went back to the normal cold start and she was fine after that. Not happened since for some reason.
I think it's the sprites and gremlins in your engine getting bored and chewing wires. They also ate my TDM shock, and threw the power steering belt wife's car. They're little tinkers them gremlins! mokin
