I want to get one, I see the reasons behind getting it are:
- They're less prone to seizing which the standard ones do a lot if not cared for and ridden through winter
- They look a lot cooler and match the front (Check out davec's bike in show me your fazer thread)
- If you can get one for about £50, you will likely save money in the long run as refurbing the standard caliper every ???? miles will cost £'s especially as it's likely pistons will be too corroded to re-use. With brakes I think it's worth using good (usually expensive) parts.
- If the 1000 rear caliper is like the fronts, it will be 100 times easier to clean and get the pistons free and moving. Cleaning and freeing up mine is always a nightmare compared to how easy the fronts usually are.
- It's more powerful / has better feel (not really that important for most people, fronts are the workhorses and a well cared for standard does a good job anyway).
