Carburetor Intake size for pod filters????????

Never used to have the option of dyno runs in the "old" days. I can't see the Fazer engine being more sensitive than those older bikes and, as said, once the airbox is out, much easier/quicker to pull the carbs off. Everybody used to do it, must have been a reason for that? And Ruby Racing seems to have plenty of previous experience of it, think he knows what he's doing....
