There's obviously power to the clocks. And it's probably not an electronic chip issue otherwise all the inidicator lights would still work.
I once took my clocks apart, but it's ten years ago and I can't remember why I did it.
In any event maybe a connection inside the clocks has come loose or corroded.
Or you may find that a wire has failed at the steering head (because they get bent every time you turn the bars).
To check them you will need a wiring diagram and a continuity or multi meter).
I think there's a wiring diagram somewhere on this website, and if you can't find it, I've got one which I can e-mail to you.
