Do not bother phoning your insurance company yet- check your small print first, I believe after an accident no matter who's fault when you tell your insurance company they may well cancel your policy on that date, which then leaves you screwed on a hire bike as you need insurance!


Speak to his insurance first and see what they say, if they are not cooperative with you then ring a solicitor, as yours is tpft your own insurance won't help you much!
