I know that Mike cuts about 180 deg of the short intake pipe inside the airbox cover away, but I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you exactly what he does to it. He also ports the carb rubbers on the engine side, but this isn't absolutely necessary. And he fits a freer flowing air filter (K&N, BMC etc). Most of this info can be found in various links on this site too, have a look around. I don't think you'd have any problems doing the various bits required once the carbs are done, the drilling of the carbs is probably the most "sensitive" thing, that you don't want to get wrong.
