A decent rear shock to suit your weight or a stronger spring on the standard unit will increase the ride height slightly which will improve the turn in. The standard shock sags badly with a 'chunkier' rider on board, the standard spring is about 425-450lbs which is fine for a grand national jockey but little else. I have a 550lb spring on mine and i'm more than happy with the steering.
Lazier steering isn't all bad as it makes for a very stable bike in fast corners.
