That does ring a bell, i've read that before now you've mentioned it.
Those tail lights are okay for braking, but i wouldn't want them as my only indicators, they're simply not bright enough and they're also an unusual colour.

Was behind a bike this morning, in the dark, with that tail unit fitted. To be honest fella, yes I noticed when he was braking but when he indicated it took me a while to distinguish what the fook was going on - this was even worse when braking & indicating.
I'd stick with the standard indicators if it was me. As said above, it's not clear to the dickheads behind you what your planning on doing - the indicator just does not stand out enough!
Your call.
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
