I've been toying with the idea of buying a thou sometime next year if I ever manage to save up the money mostly for the benefits of long distance and being able to load it up - the power is certainly appealing as well...

I did a few checks before hand and to my surprise, I can insure a Gen 1 thou for exactly the same price as my 600, to the penny... obviously tax is a bit higher, but when you're paying £270~ a year on tax for a car, bike tax is just a fart in the wind...
