Right, taken off fairing inserts and cleaned every connector I can see with contact cleaner. I then did everything under the seat and then onto the connectors under side covers.
So far the fault has not come back. however I still get something I deem as a fault but no one has said if it is or not.. To help explain I took a video.

When ignition is turned on oil, temp etc lights all come on and then go off. ok I think I can understand that as a sort of self test when you turn the key. BUT I get the same thing when I put the lights on dipped beam and then onto main beam!? Not only this but it also turns all the LCD screens off for a second or 2 while it does this.
I am thinking a faulty earth if this is not normal operation. if not I will be having the clocks out tomorrow to investigate.
