I've heard good things but haven't tried it myself. Its relatively cheap, especially compared to a new seat, so might be worth a shot

I've got one but only use it for long distances, yes it helps with comfort, feels funny the first time you use it plus it raises the seat height a good inch or so which when you put your foot down in town and forget it can give you a little moment!
