The rugged looking walking shoe/boots whilst better than flip flops still caused my toe to break & the shock went right up to my pelvis with my calf & hamstring muscles totally focced.
Ill get the bike back today & strip off the fairing& take a look at the bracket.
Is it worth buying one of those mini blow torch burners with a cannister from homebase to apply heat & then try chapping the bracket round with a hammmer????

ex As for the fairing and blow torch works....wouldn't bother the bike's totally screwed, frame bent, shot to shit etc You can tell from the pics :rolleyes .
With the bike being fit for parts only can I have the tank, rad guard and end can - £25 delivered should do it :lol
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.
