My Dad, by no means the best guitar player out there, is one of the most versatile I have ever met. When he plays, it sounds like a lead, rhythmn and bass rolled into one - think Ralph McTell, Gordon Lightfoot, with a bit more complexity on the first two strings. He uses standard tuning, isn't too keen on open tuning.
