That's why i suggested brake pad chatter, i had a set of pads on some old front calipers that would slightly catch on the disc causing a circular rattle noise.
I've since changed the calipers and it doesn't do it any more.
You can easily test it by moving the wheel on the centre stand and if it is the cause the pads will rise then drop, but obviously at speed it makes a clicking noise.
