There was a village near where I used to live that did this every year. Entries got pretty creative. Once of my fav's was a Mary Poppins hanging from a brolly on a wire strung across the garden aboue 20ft up.
Another standout was the hockey-mask chainsaw dude - that was cool. someone even did a decent tramp on the local bench, they even drenched him in piss
