I used the custom made plugs for a good few years, but they are ineffective now.

I found moldable silicon plugs in Boots or Super drug to be pretty good up to 80mph.

The foam ones never worked for me and come out too easily, I also used them to get to sleep one night
and woke up with my ears ringing! So the ear plugs actually gave me tinnitus...
