I used to do a LOT of travelling through work and to various countries. I expect to wait in LONG queues for an excessive length of time (China was the worst)
what I detested was (especially at Heathrow) standing in a huge queue with 1/2 operatives on and looking over at the "foreigners" desks - usually manned with 5 or 6 people and watching that queue shrink quicker than ours.
