depends a lot on the quality of chain and your riding style....ive adjusted the chain once in a year on my thou,quality did chain,and a fairly smooth rider when iam not with the london foccers 
probs done about 3k in the last year....had cheap chains on the six and probs adjusted every month approx 1k rode that a lot harder
