How do you remove the air box? Took the carbs out and removed the rubbers on the air box. I am removing the engine and want to know cause it is a mystery to me, it's just to long!

There is 1 hex head bolt (12mm socket i think) at the top of the airbox connecting to the frame, and 1 one each side also behind the black plastic side covers.
Ideally to get out in one piece without cursing and wrecking something, take it out after the engine & put it back in before the engine.
I forgot to put it back in before the engine and i had to dissemble the airbox as much as it would and fight with it to wedge it back in, best avoided. :thumbup

So let me get this right, in order to change your airbox you have to dismantle the whole focing bike AND take the engine out? STUPID YAMAHA!!

Pretty much yea, unless your willing to hack away a few bits which you dont think you need :lol
Although to be fair, when do you ever really have to change your airbox.
