This is what was causing my excessive rear brake travel. :'(
Had to replace my EBC rear disc this evening, see picture, it is supposed to be flat but it is more like a dish. :eek
Used a Brembo disc this time.
I have a Fazer 1000 rear caliper which I fitted at 24000miles and I replaced the original disc at 61000 miles and now have just under 750000 miles Not to impressed with EBC, this has happened after less than 14000 miles. :'(
Four times the rear brake faded after fitting this disc, I never had that failure with the original disc and have always used EBC HH pads front and rear. It happened twice decending the Pyrenees, once on a spirited run home from the NW200 and last Friday on the way home from work I noticed the pedal travel was getting worse and it was starting to drag badly.
At first I though it may have been because I needed to change the brake fluid and I changed it outside the hotel where I was staying in France and it happened again two days later on the Pyrennes.
I did track days with the original disc shortly after fitting the fazer 1000 caliper without ever having any issues. I have not done any track days since fitting the EBC disc.
I think an email to EBC is in order :rolleyes
