Flappy lumpy chain and possible leaking gearbox output shaft
#6
Wise Gnasher has spoken.

What he says...

My first fazer had (has) the same thing.

The chain rattles.  Its fine.
The sprocket cover gasket is not required. I used liquid stiff for a while but with checking the nut regularly it just becomes an inconvenience that has no bearing on anything overall. Leave it off and its fine.
The output seal is a bugger. I bought the seal online for a fiver and started a variety of conversations regarding it.
One technique I chatted to fazbaz about was with the engine and gearbox in place using a couple of self tapping screws to remove the old one and tap new one in with a equally dimensioned tube or cylinder.
Having done crankseals on engines in the past I always knew this would be very hit or miss with the end result and decided against it. Its a very fragile seal and wpuld meed the touch of an artist to achieve a solution but even then with questionable result.

The only alternative then is to split the box from the engine and do it the old fashioned, safer, way.

No.

In the end I weighed it up against the amount of oil I was losing as opposwd to the work involved and time my only mode of transport would be of the road as well as the facilities to carry it out at my disposal.
It didn't lose that much and with having the dreaded nut come loose previously I was regularly removing the cover for inspection anyway. Several times I tried to pull the shaft to see if the balls were loose (ooh err) and it was always solid.

I left it, it was fine. If you have the tech nous and the time and facilities, I say get the engine out and give it laldy. Otherwise,  it wont affect the bike overall unless the shaft is noticably out of sync or you are losing too much oil.
Aside from that it will be cushty

Hope that helps
Smell ones mother. Yaas!
