A mixed bag :rolleyes I went out after sorting the bent gear shifter and doing the chain (bike safe coppers said it was too loose) and fixed the scottoiler too.
The only problem was I still opened her up on the straights and corners. I always feel confident until I go wrong, but it was on a road I knew so it was okay. I did some slow cornering too and felt better with that.
I need to practise throttle control as well as figuring out the vanishing point or whatever it is.
Big arse is that I melted my top bag as it wasn't properly fastened on one side and partially melted on my exhaust :eek

When you look ahead at a bend in the road (say it goes to the left for arguments sake) the top edge of the road will appear to curve around to meet the inner edge of the road at some point in the distance.
This is the vanising point. If it appears that you are approaching it very quickly then the bend is very tight and you're going too quick, if it kind of stays in the distance then you're about right. If it starts to move away from you then you can speed up a bit as the road is straigtening out.
If you use this method, you need to be *constantly* re-evaluating the point and your relation to it, otherwise you can head round a fast bend which is closely followed by a sharp bend and get yourself messed up
