Tcat yeah I have heard the same, apparently they have horrible fueling issues and they are fairly expensive too so I am not too keen on them. The MZ Baghira uses the same engine granted but have ironed out all the kinks and apparently bang for buck that's the best bet, powerful too but not quite as dual purpose as the DR650. Realistically though I doubt I would do that much green laning, the roads around devon and torbay are awful as it is so the suspension will definitely come in handy.
Not too keen on the look of the dominator and looks this time are a main aspect of what I'm going for as its purely going to be a fun bike (although actually practical too). I agree with you on thumpers vs sports bikes on the twisties, a mate of mine had a ktm and it was so good on the twisties and powering out of tight corners, sounded demonic too :lol . Seen loads of youtube vids as well where they're embarrassing a lot of weekend warriors on their GsxR's, my mate is a good rider and recently bought an old 750 slingshot and I know he will leave me for dead on A roads but I look forward to giving him a run for his money on the B roads. My dad is really keen on me getting one too, I thought he would try and talk sense into me but he was totally all for it although I think he is tired of getting destroyed by my fazer on his SV :evil
