FZS 600 Is this one worth buying?
#6
A new rear shock could set you back around £300 from Hagon but may be cheaper ones available, good barganing point if it is original and 20000 miles is about the life of them.
The front sprocket nut can loosen and fall off, Yamaha brought out a new thicker nut  to solve the issue. Easily checked with a torch looking in along the line of the chain, it should be flush with the end of the Shaft whereas with the original one the shaft sticks out, outside the nut.
I have exactly the same model with over 70000 miles on it and it has done everything from track days to two up touring in Ireland, England, Wales, France and Spain Smile
