You are of course, totally right. There was no confirmation of him being drunk, I only repeated what the police told me. However, he could have been just an extremely grumpy person when woken up or suffering from a mental illness as I have no doubt that the police wouldn't have used the force they did unless they felt threatened.  He was pretty much subdued by the time I got there but displayed all the traits of someone that was worse for wear. More important than all of that was all the shouting going on and the fact that my gut feeling told me not to intervene and that has never let me down. Wink
