Because reduction in viscosity is only one of the reasons we change the oil. Another is that the carefully balanced additive package in fresh oil gets used up... in particular, those that neutralise corrosive acidic compounds caused by combustion products getting past the piston rings. If those are used up (and that will happen quicker if you add Activ8), then you'll be overwintering your engine's vitals in an acid bath. :lol
