Check that your battery is connected good and tight first anyway and that it's properly charged. When you press the button does the oil light and low fuel light come on or does nothing happen? If those lights come on then the switch must be working. So the next most likely thing to act up is probably the kill switch on the handlebars. Take that off and check and clean it. If that's working the next handiest thing to test would be the starter relay, if that's working you'll have to check all of the other cut off switches and connections.
